Small Boat Regatta - CorYC - October 1-2

Challenged Sailors will be out in force for the Small Boat Regatta hosted by Coronado Yacht Club October 1-2. Martins, Hansas, and Harbor 20s are scheduled to compete over two fall days on Glorietta Bay. More info to follow.

CSSD Summer Series Runs Aground!

Regretfully, due to a lack of responses to our Summer Series idea, we’re going to see if more people are available on Thursdays, starting June 23^rd. If it turns out our sailors would rather stick to Fridays and Saturdays, we’ll figure out how to work with that. But, for now, the Summer Series race on June 14 is off. Thanks to those working on this. We’ll learn and grow. We look forward to seeing all of you out on the water, racing or not. Let’s Go Sailing! Let Sue know if you are interested.

CSSD Summer Beer Can Series Begins June 14!

Something Different Is In The Works! CSSD will host a monthly Summer Series (Beer Can Race Casual) beginning Tuesday evening, June 14. There will be one race for Martin 16s beginning about 6PM. More details will be coming soon. Maybe we'll have a spinnaker and a non-spinnaker class! Please let Sue know of your interest. To start, we need a Dock Lead and a Chase Boat driver. Adaptive Sports Fair - June 4 10AM-3PM Mission Bay Park

Challenged Sailors will have a booth at the San Diego City Recreation Services Adaptive Sports Fair on June 4 from 10AM - 3PM.  Come visit us!

We need volunteers, a Martin 16 on a trailer, table, cabana, tri-folds, banner, event stuff.

An All-Hands Meeting has been scheduled for May 14, 10:00-10:45 @ Sunroad/Safe Harbor. This is open to all CSSD Sailors, Companions, and Volunteers. It is intended to provide a forum for all to get some updated information about Challenged Sailors from Board members and a chance to ask questions and make recommendations. This is a day full of events - PVA sailing, All-Hands Meeting, and PLYC Bob Kearns Memorial Race - so please be on time.

CSSD Board Announcement

Dear Challenged Sailors San Diego Supporters,

I regretfully announce that Ryan Craft has decided to step away from the position of President of Challenged Sailors, effective immediately. Ryan’s family and work commitments preclude him from leading our organization in the manner which he desired. Ryan will continue to serve on the Board of Directors, concentrating on developing and supporting needed sailor, volunteer, and companion training initiatives.

The Board has accepted Ryan’s resignation and thanks him for his leadership and service to our team. We look forward to our continuing work together.

In a separate action following today’s Board meeting, the remaining Board members met in closed session and by unanimous vote elected Peter Phillips as our new President. Peter will continue in an interim capacity to oversee and act as Treasurer until a replacement can be identified. Please welcome Peter to his new leadership position. We look forward to his guidance and leadership as we continue to move forward in our mission.

Coronado Yacht Club has invited Challenged Sailors San Diego to participate in the 2022 MidWinter Regatta on Glorietta Bay, February 19-20.  Registration is now open:
