Challenged Sailors San Diego Practice Starts and Races Cancelled for December 7 (Saturday)

CSSD practice starts and races are cancelled for Saturday due to inclement weather.

Monday Night Football dinner at Coronado Yacht Club by Challenged Sailors San Diego. The men did majority of the cooking. It was a success!

CSSD helps with Operation Clean Sweep

Operation Clean Sweep San Diego Bay

Challenged Sailors San Diego volunteers and sailors participated in the 2019 Operation Clean sweep on August 24th.  Organized by the San Diego Port Tenants Association, this annual event includes many San Diego organizations such as Port of San Diego, U.S. Navy and Coast Guard, yacht clubs, and other groups.

Point Loma Yacht Club Charity Bay Race

Once again Point Loma Yacht Club invited Challenged Sailors San Diego to participate in the Charity Bay Race on August 17. Thank you to PLYC, members, volunteers and the day's race committee! It is always great to sail on San Diego Bay but being able to sail with a wonderful group like PLYC during a beautiful San Diego day is special.

More than 20 volunteers and sailors from Challenged Sailors participated. Thank you to all everyone who was involved and helped work through a few little logistical issues during the race.

Challenged Sailors on the Zevely Zone!

On Tuesday, 8/27, Jeff Zevely of San Diego's CBS channel 8 visited Challenged Sailors to see the operation and interview volunteers and sailors. The segment will air on Labor Day, Monday 9/2 during the 5 pm Channel 8 News. The Zevely Zone usually broadcasts between 5:30 and 5:45.

Join CSSD at SD Festival of the Arts

Challenged Sailors San Diego will have a booth at and will be a beneficiary of the San Diego Festival of the Arts, June 8 & 9 at Waterfront Park (Harbor Dr. by the County Administration Building). Produced by Torrey Pines Kiwanis and San Diego Magazine, this unforgettable weekend filled with art by 200 artists, food, craft beer and entertainment benefits adaptive sports and recreation programs for San Diegans with disabilities, including Challenged Sailors San Diego.

KMAC Results

Congratulations to Sue Taetzsch and Jim Thweatt on their 1st place finishes in the Martin 16 and Hansa 303 classes respectively at in 5th annual Kyle C. McArthur Memorial Regatta, held at Coronado Yacht Club.  Complete results are available here.

SCYA Midwinters

Congratulations to Steven G Muse, Sue Taetzsch, and Judith Kowalesky on finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Martin 16 sailboat class at the SCYA Midwinters Regatta, Coronado Yacht Club.  Full results here and a few pictures here.
